 Leon Bain Stewart, Founder

Leon is a Blind youngman, who was born with Bilateral Retinoblastoma, which is Cancer of the eyes. At the age of 6 weeks old this disease left him totally blind which he had his eyes removed and replaces with prosthetic eyes for cosmetic purposes.

Leon was introduce to the Miami Herald at the age of 7 years old being listed as a Trailblazer to later be listed as a Young Philanthropist. Leaving Miami Dade County School to attend The Florida School for the Deaf and Blind only to return home on weekends. He is actively involved with the N’Vision and Outta Sight band where he is a keyboard player and a lead/background singer. The "Outta Sight Band" perform all across the state of Florida including performing for Governor Crist at the State Legislation in Tallahassee. Being blind has only encouraged him to use all of his other sense to his advantage.

In 2007, Leon founded his non-profit organization "L.B.S. SpecialAngels, Incorporated", which is a 501(c)(3).

MISSION: is helping families with children who are Blind, Visually Impaired, & other Special Needs, through educating, emotionally, financially to attending workshop, conventions, & seminars so there children can attend camps all around the world so they can live a normal life as possible.

Here is how active Leon has been in the community

1. One of the top ten winner of the “Do The Right Thing”, award sponsor by The City of Miami Police Department

2 Instead for receiving birthday presents at his 9^th birthday party he collect money to by toys for the Division of Blind Service for there Christmas Party

3 His picture was display on the Miami Lighthouse for the blind Van for 5 years that travel throughout Dade County

4. He donated over $1000.00 to the Miami Lighthouse for the Child Endowment Program to help with the summer program.

5. Started the first Special Need Motorcycle Toy Run in the State of Florida which give out toys to over 250 kids thisyear is our 4^th year

6. He sponsor a Golf Classic Tournament.

7. LBS Special Angels has financially support family with children  that are blind or visually impaired to visit TheFlorida School for the Deaf and Blind

10. Leon is the poster child for Miami Dade County Library Talking Books

11. Participated in the Florida Department of Education Stock Market and out of 1800 teams Leon leaded his team to number 5 in the state.

12. He donated healthy snack and participated in Kazah Temple Health Fair

13. He sponsor a Blind Awareness Event each year call "Dining in Darkness"

14. Leon has donated food & gift baskets to many organizations for there fundraiser.

15. Leon was one of ten Florida's 2010 Solo Artist of the year from VSA Arts

Being blind has not hinder him at all. Leon try to do anything a sighted child does. He play video games, ride a bike,swim, water ski, and bowl.  His living skill are making his bed, vacuum, washing clothes, using a microwave, traveling by himself with Special Transportation Service or by airplane, and most of all he like to download music on the computer.
